Robert J. Mathieu
Robert Mathieu died Dec. 10, 2007, at the Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Westborough, Mass., at 87. During his career, Mr. Mathieu had been the founder and former owner of Bob Mathieu Ford Village in Westborough; his wife and he later owned Bob and Lee Mathieu Realtors. A World War II veteran, Mr. Mathieu had served with the Air Force, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He had been an active parishioner of St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Westborough and a member of the Sodality of the College. Mr. Mathieu had been a member of the President’s Council at Holy Cross and a Holy Cross class agent. He is survived by his wife, Leonore “Lee”; seven sons; five daughters; four sons-in-law; four daughters-in-law; 22 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and many nephews and nieces. His brothers were the late Joseph A. ’43 and Ralph E. ’53.
WESTBOROUGH- Leonore M. “Lee” Mathieu, 88, of Westborough, MA passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Mathieu.
Leonore Bernard
Born in Winchendon, MA she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Emma (Berard) Bernard. She was educated at the Presentation of Mary School in Hudson, NH and graduated from Rivier College in Nashua, NH.

Along with raising twelve children, Lee and her husband founded a real estate company that bore their names. Bob and Lee Mathieu Real Estate started out of their home and grew to a company of over 100 associates, including several of their children. In later years she remained active with her family in real estate sales, working well into her 80’s.

Lee was a communicant and active member of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, a member of the Westborough Women’s Club, a member of the Women of St. Luke’s, a lifetime member of the Greater Worcester Board of Realtors and a former member of the YMCA Financial Committee.

Lee is survived by her twelve children, Rev. Robert E. Mathieu of Bloomfield, New Mexico, Michael J. Mathieu and his wife, Paula, of Westborough, Thomas A. Mathieu of Palm Beach, FL, Beatrice M. Duncan and her husband, Douglas, of Natick, Leonore M. Griffin of Worcester, Leo J. Mathieu of Westborough, Theresa M. Strouse and her husband, John, of Westborough, Joseph P. Mathieu and his wife, Judith, of Belfast, ME, Mary M. Christensen and her husband, Preben, of Westborough, Mark L.J. Mathieu and his wife, Lisa, of Dover, NH, Roberta M. Falvey and her husband, Brian, of Westborough and John J. Mathieu and his wife, Kerry, of Westborough. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Jeannette Jeffers.
