Annie Kushnir is our grandmother on our father side (Paul Slywka).
The info I have mentionned that she was born on December 9 1908 (no mention of place of birth).
I have a book on their ancestors here. They were Theodor Petryshyn and Eva Iwanetz)
They came to Canada abord the S.S.Postdam and arived in Halifax on May 27 1913.
Mike Slywka was born in the old country Halychyna in 1901. He emigrated to Canada in 1903.
Anna, (Paul's mother) was also born in Western Ukraine . No records of natural parents are available.
It is said here in my book that like most people during this era were poor and destitute and were not able to take care of her and were forced to give her up for adoption. The family that adopted Ann was a Kushner and that's the surname Ann had to take. On our father birth certificate , her name is written Annie Kushner.


Oui Mr Cantin. Ces informations sont inscrites dans un livre que j'ai. Mais comme on voit, il a immigre au Canada en 1903. C'est l'endroit ou ilest arrive que je recherche. Halifax ? Je sait qu'il existe une liste des bateaux en provenance de l'Europe, mais il me faut quand meme une ceratine date et un endroit ou le bateau que je recherche pour trouver les personnes que je recherche. C'est pour ca que j'ai ecris " Immigration au Canada en 1914. Ma question est: ou trouver ces documents d'immigration comme "ship manifest" ?
